Nigeria Issues Alert Over Rising Lassa Fever Case

Nigeria’s health authorities, including the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Nigerian Medical Association, have issued an emergency alert to medical personnel nationwide due to rising Lassa fever infections.

Health professionals are being urged to strengthen infection-prevention measures and remain vigilant in hospitals.

The disease has affected several states including Bauchi, Ondo, Taraba, Edo, and Benue.

Over 18 states and many local government areas have reported cases during the current outbreak.
